She (branch manager) refused to give me a refund because I unknowingly signed my name to it. I showed her my Hotwire invoice and explained that the employee that checked me in fraudulently added those charged without my knowledge. This blew my mind as I would guess a great majority of their reservations come from third party bookings. The "branch manager" clearly said "we do not view the third party agreements so we don't know what you purchased". I explained that I never agreed or asked for extra loss damage protection from Sixt, and why would I as I had already purchased protection from Allianz via Hotwire (and I have full coverage car insurance of my own). I disputed the charge with the Sixt employee there at check-out, she claims she was a branch manager. Sixt sent an invoice for an additional charge of $314.43 for loss damage (a rate $68/day x 4 days plus tax/surcharge). I was on vacation so I hadn't viewed my email until the last day. He brings up the electronic screen for my signature (which does not show charges or fees or the agreement), I sign thinking it was for the credit card deposit, and then he hands me a card to take and get the car and tells me they will email the invoice documents. The Sixt employee casually asks me "Insurance?" to which I reply, "yes, we have the insurance" referring to my Hotwire booking that I'm assuming he's referring to as well. Checked in, provided credit card for $1000 deposit they require. We showed to the *** airport location to pick up our rental. The rental was placed with Sixt Car Rental. I reserved a Luxury Elite SUV and you find out the car rental company after you complete the purchase. I rented a car through Hotwire on 3/16/23.
